Eye of Africa – Newsletter

It’s been almost two years since Eye of Africa experienced its massive turnaround with new developers on board and a lot has happened during that time. We have seen the launch of three new suburbs and the introduction of new facilities that have made this a place you don’t want, or need, to leave. We grabbed headlines as hosts of the annual PGA Championship and are proud to announce that we will be hosting this prestigious tournament once again from 9-12 February 2017. We have also become the darling of the foodie circuit thanks to our acclaimed restaurant, The Greens Grillhouse. Read one of the many food reviews here: www.hellojoburg.co.za

And we’re not going to stop there. The changes implemented since January 2015 are just the beginning. There’s so much for residents to look forward to, including even more infrastructure. We look forward to telling you all about what you can expect in this, our very first newsletter. Read on to find out exactly why Eye of Africa really is your window on the world.

New Villages Launched

Since January 2015, we announced the launch of three new villages with magnificent view sites; St Georges and Belvedere followed by Beaconsfield earlier this year.

Already, these villages have attracted strong interest from buyers, with Eye of Africa reporting 250 new developer sales since January last year. Equally impressive is the phenomenal growth in selling prices that has been achieved.

Consider that, when we first went to market, stands were priced between R600 000 to R1 750 000. Our entry point is now R950 000, and some of our best stands are well in excess of R3 500 000. Now that’s an investment!

New Infrastructure & Facilities

Walk around The Eye of Africa, and you’ll notice that the estate looks vastly different to how it did just two short years ago.

What’s changed? For a start, we’ve added a whole lot of infrastructure to make living here more convenient. There’s the Greens Grillhouse wine bar and terrace, a must-visit for special occasions or even just for celebrating the passing of an ordinary day, floodlit tennis courts, basketball court and a new short game practice facility for golfers.

This facility is particularly exciting for golfers who are striving to perfect their strokes. It features four target greens, where players can pitch at distances ranging from 30 to 80 metres and from any “lie”. A second green provides a rounded challenge with deep and shallow bunkers, while a chipping green enables golfers to try their hand at bumps and runs as well as normal chip shots. Another noteworthy feature is the fairway bunker, which gives golfers a feel for long distance bunker shots. Close by, the tee box has been extended to practice long distance uphill and downhill lies.

Eye of Africa’s Gym Opens

Warmer weather seems to bring with it a desire to get fit and strong. It’s not just about trying to lose the evidence of winter nights on the couch, pizza and red wine in hand, but about feeling vital and healthy. That’s why there couldn’t be a more perfect time for The Eye of Africa’s gym to open its doors.

The gym is open to all residents, who can take advantage of imported, cutting edge equipment specially selected to provide an all over workout.

The gym features a cardio section, fitted with elliptical trainers, stationary bikes, treadmills and rowers, as well as free weights, dumbbells and an Olympic bar. Cable oriented lateral trainers engage muscles on the sides of the body to give users a more thorough workout.

Designed with convenience in mind, the gym has everything you could possibly need to make it easy to incorporate a quick session in your day. Gym facilities include a sauna, shower, change-rooms with built-in lockers, full audio and Wi-Fi, TV monitors so that you can keep up with the news while you train, a juice bar serving fresh juices, smoothies and protein shakes, and a store where you can stock up on whey protein and sports supplements.

Future plans include the introduction of a personal trainer.

The gym is open Tuesday to Sunday from 05:30 to 20:00, Saturdays until 19:00 and Sundays ‘til 17:00. Membership details upon application.

Enhancing your Leisure Time

You haven’t seen the last changes at The Eye of Africa, there’s plenty more to look forward to, including some additions which will make this summer that much sweeter.

First on the list is the brand new resort pool, accompanied by an ice cream & waffle parlour located in Central Park.

The facility officially opened its doors on 27 November 2016.

If you’re looking for something a little more substantial, try out our new Old School Deli and eatery, where you’ll find a range of Italian-inspired dishes.

Central Park’s Old Schoolhouse Deli Opening

On Sunday 27 November 2016, Eye of Africa residents and their guests came together to celebrate the opening of the much anticipated Old School Deli.

Central Park was alive with families enjoying the smooth sounds of popular afro fusion jazz band, Ethnix and the variety of delicious food on offer by the Deli. Luxury picnic baskets filled with Italian foods redolent with sunshine flavours, including freshly baked breads, charcuterie and gourmet cheeses delighted many taste buds, whilst some preferred to indulge in delicious pasta dishes, classic pizzas, sumptuous grill dishes and the selection of salads.

Roars of happiness echoed from children as they jumped in and out of the new resort pool, had their faces painted or were spoilt with a tasty ice-cream from the ice-cream parlour. Central Park and The Old School Deli are sure to provide many more festive, family hours for residents, their families and their friends.
